Formed by sisters Wanda,
Sheila and Jeanette Hutchinson in Chicago, Illinois in 1968, The
Emotions first achieved success with the minor hit, So I Can Love You
a year later. In 1970, Jeanette left the group and was
replaced by their cousin, Theresa Davis, who was then replaced by their
other sister, Pamela.
It wasn't until they hooked up with Earth Wind & Fire's Maurice White did they realise their true success. During this time, they
released 1977's smash Best Of My Love which spent 5 weeks at the
top of the US charts. |
|
| They continued to record together during the 80's but failed to recapture their successes of the disco years. Their latest album, Flowers, was released in 2004. | |
