This production boasts some of Geelong's finest comedic talent as well as some newcomers to the Geelong Rep stage.

Freddy
Geoff Gaskill

Geoff has been acting and directing for more than thirty years in Melbourne, Bendigo and Geelong, in non-professional and co-operative theatre. He is a graduate of the National Theatre Drama School and has performed at the Melbourne Fringe Festival and at La Mama. His extensive list of acting credits indicates the wide and challenging variety of roles he has played. His directorial credits range from Julius Caesar (Geelong Lyric Theatre), to Extremities (NBT Productions, Melbourne).

He appears regularly in television series, teledramas, commercials, and in "innumerable in-house corporate videos". He is regularly employed by Laughing Matters, a Melbourne company involved in corporate role-playing. Currently Geoff lives on a few acres on the Bellarine Peninsula, with his wife, about two million rabbits and mosquitoes the size of budgerigars. 

He was last seen playing Thomas Cromwell in A Man For All Seasons.




Gaston
Ian Rooney
A veteran actor, Ian has enjoyed a passionate relationship with theatre since his days as a schoolboy in Glasgow. 

Beginning his professional career as a comedian in Canberra in the late '60s , Ian moved to Victoria and has played major roles in over 50 productions.

His performances include roles in The Sum of Us and Death and the Maiden for Geelong Repertory, Honour for pinkfish productions, There’s a Naked Man in my Loungeroom for Real Fiction and A Protest for On a Mat Appear at the 2002 Melbourne Fringe Festival.

His film and television credits include Neighbours, Stingers, Halifax FP, The Wog Boy and The Bank.




Germaine
Josie Scott
Until recently, Josie trained at the Screen Actors Studio for more than a year, working in a multicam studio for television and screen acting.

During this time she worked as an extra on Blue Heelers and Stingers as well as on short films through RMIT and two independent feature films - Lovesick and Magnificient Thieves.

She has also kept her other passion, music, in the guise of vocalist with a cover band five years ago.  

Since then, she has had the pleasure of being a guest vocalist with the Geelong band Hot Club Swing and is currently collaborating with musician-songwriter Kendall Carnie on Ampersand’s latest CD.

Josie says it has been a pleasure taking on the role of Germaine, a far cry from her role of Boy in Waiting for Godot and Nibs in Peter Pan, her first roles in Rep nearly twenty years ago




Albert Einstein
 
Ian Nash-Gilchrist
Ian's performing career began late in his life (some would say not late enough). 

His early work included such productions as Anything Goes, Annie, Pippin (1994), Les Miserables, Joseph, Boogie Fever and The Andrew Lloyd Webber Spectacular (but don't hold that against him). 

In recent times, he starred as Danny in Grease, Romeo & Juliet, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story, Pippin (2000), A Chorus Line, Chicago, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (2002) and as the long-suffering Geoffrey in Stepping Out.

His writing career was launched when he teamed up with Ed Dolista, later co-founding Comic Genius Productions. Their plays include Robin Hood the Untold Story, Robin Hood 2: the Sheriff Strikes Back and Robin Hood 3: the Third One. In 2000 Ian reprised his role as Robin Hood in the revamped The Robin Hood Trilogy Special Edition.

In March, Ian will co-choreograph Lyric Youth Theatre’s Pirates of Penzance with his wife, Penni.




Suzanne
Mel Gibson

Mel has had a long association with alternative theatre in Geelong as a stage manager, producer and actor.

Mel played Crystobel in the Fringe production of There’s a Naked Man in my Lounge Room last year. 

She appeared in A Protest, this year’s Melbourne Fringe Festival production by On A Mat Appear in association with the Geelong Repertory Theatre Company.

Mel is also an accomplished musician and has played for various festivals and events including the Pako Street Festival.




Sagot
  Ross Pearce
Ross has appeared in local Geelong theatre for over 20 years, beginning with chorus roles in Geelong Lyric. 

In 2000, he played Friar Tuck in Comic Genius Productions' The Robin Hood Trilogy Special Edition.

He has appeared in many productions with Theatre of the Winged Unicorn, most recently as Vanya in Chekov's Uncle Vanya. 

Ross has performed on both sides of the stage with Geelong Repertory on numerous occasions

He is best remembered for his critically acclaimed role as C.S. Lewis in Shadowlands.

Ross was last seen at Rep playing Herr Biedermann in The Fire Raisers.  




Pablo Picasso
Brad Beales
2002 marks a couple of firsts for Brad, having made his directorial debut with Brigadoon in September for Geelong Lyric Theatre Society and his acting debut at the Woodbin with this production for Geelong Repertory.

Other roles Brad has portrayed include his Victorian Theatre Guild nominated performance of the Baker in Into the Woods, Valjean in Les Miserables (2000) and Marius (1995).

He played Will Parker in Oklahoma and Ralph Rackstraw in HMS Pinafore, all for Geelong Lyric.Brad also played Jesus in Werribee Theatre Company’s Jesus Christ Superstar and Percy of Middlesex in The Robin Hood Trilogy Special Edition for Comic Genius Productions.

Brad is thrilled to be a part of this production with the opportunity to work with this wonderful cast and crew. 



Charles Dabernow Schmendiman
 
Brendan O'Halloran

Brendan started acting as an adult 20 years ago with Williamstown Little Theatre.

His first and most enjoyable role with Repertory was as Willy Mossop in Hobsons Choice.

He also played a monkey drummer on the festival circuit in Ritual for Dolls.

He is hungry for more Shakespeare having played Malvolio in Twelfth Night with Peninsula Players and Montague in Barwon Theatre Company’s production of Romeo and Juliet.

He produced Cymbeline in the Geelong Botanical Gardens and also directed Away for OGRE.

He enjoys making people laugh.




The Countess 
Christine Cato
Christine’s love of acting started back in 1990 when she performed in the Geelong Musical Comedy Company production’s of Kiss Me Kate, Mame and Anything Goes.

She also had a major role in the Stagecoach play, Murder Mistaken.

For the past four years, Christine has been training with Screen Actors Studio. 

She has featured in many television commericals including featured roles for Mitre 10 and Huggies.

She has worked on a short film, corporate performances and has had bit parts in The Secret Life of Us and Blue Heelers.

Charmaine Camilleri
Charmaine is addicted to theatre. 

A Deakin Arts student and former choir singer from Werribee, she has performed in a string of productions including Werribee Theatre Company’s Alice in Wonderland in which she played Alice.

She also scored roles in the teenage comedy Dags, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and musicals Smithy and A Little Dab’ll Do Ya. 

Charmaine, 20, who admires actresses Julia Roberts and Cate Blanchett lives by the motto “Be positive and live the moment because you only have one life”.

Off the stage, the former karate student enjoys watching boxing fights, the nightlife, shopping and reading.

Charmaine is one determined lady, as she intends to audition for NIDA, WAAPA or the VCA on completion of her Arts - Journalism/Drama studies in 2005.

Ed Dolista
Ed has been acting since 1981.

Highlights include leads in Lyric's Les Misérables and How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, for which he was nominated for the Victorian Theatre Guild's Best Lead Actor. 

He has appeared in numerous shows with GMCC, GSODA, Doorstep Productions and Theatre of the Winged Unicorn. Separation, The Fire Raisers and most recently A Man For All Seasons. 

For Geelong Repertory, he was in Scenes from a Separation, The Fire Raisers and most recently as William Roper in A Man For All Seasons. 

Ed was recently seen playing Tobias in The Secret Life of Us.

In March he is co-directing Pirates of Penzance with Kelly Clifford for Lyric Youth Theatre.

He also co-wrote & starred in Comic Genius Productions' The Robin Hood Trilogy Special Edition with Ian Nash-Gilchrist. 

When not on the stage, Ed hosts Disco Fever, Saturday nights on 94.7 The Pulse.
